Home Information Visiting Hours

 

The presence of family and friends enhances and supports patients in their recovery. We encourage visitors but ask that no more than two per patient at anytime.

Please be sensitive to the needs and wishes of room-mates if sharing a room. Lounges are available on most floors for family and friends to visit if the patient's room-mate is sleeping or having a procedure done.

Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and remain in the patient's room during the visit.

Visitor Self-Screening

Visitors who are not feeling well should not visit the Hospital. You may risk exposing our patients to infection from a cough or sneeze.
General Visiting Hours
(Medical, Surgical, Psychiatric, Coronary Care Unit - Floors 3, 2 South, 4 North)

Restricted to 2 visitors (including children) with in and out privileges. Children under the age of 13 must be supervised at all times.
 
11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Obstetrics (Maternity) Patients
(Floors 4)

  • One Primary Support Person (24 hours a day)
  • Brother(s)/sister(s) of the baby (accompanied by an adult at all times) are welcome. Please have an adult to support and supervise the visit.
  • Please help us create a restful environment by limiting visitors to 2 per patient and keeping visits short.
2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
7 p.m - 8:30 p.m.
 
Labour and Delivery
(Floor 4)
  • 2 support people are allowed. The support person(s) may change throughout the duration of labour.
     
Duration of labour
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Level II Nursery
(Floor 7)
  • All visitors must be over the age of 16 with the exception of siblings who must be over two years of age.
  • Visitors (2 at a time) are to be accompanied by one of the baby's parents.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
(Floor 3)
  • Restricted to 2 visitors with in and out privileges.
    (Access determined by the nursing unit manager or designate.)
2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
7 p.m - 8:30 p.m.
Same Day Admit Patients
1 visitor may wait in the Surgical Waiting Room (Room 351 - main floor) for the duration of the surgery. In and out privileges. That individual may return during regular (general) visiting hours on the surgical units as outlined above.

1 visitor may wait in the Surgical Waiting Room (2nd floor) for the duration of the surgery. In and out privileges.

Ambulatory Patients
Visitors accompanying ambulatory (emergency, clinic, diagnostic or office visits) or day surgery patients will be restricted to
1 support person per patient with the exception of extraordinary or compassionate circumstances.

It is located on the Second Floor of the hospital.

This service is staffed by our volunteers and provides a link between the operating room and the recovery room, surgical units, surgeons and your relatives awaiting news.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
