Description:

The Obstetrical unit is an 8 bed unit with an additional 3 birthing rooms.  Three of the eight beds on the unit are designated for acute medical or surgical use.  We provide care for antepartum and postpartum patients, labour and delivery, newborn care, obstetrical surgical as well as female medical and post-op surgical patients.  We have a busy outpatient clinic that sees patients antenatally or postpartum, and provides well baby checks, assistance with feeding problems and parenting issues.  Our census fluctuates.

We have the ability to provide isolation for infection control purposes in 2 rooms. 

We encourage moms to room in, but do on occasion have babies in the nursery.  We can accommodate infants that are being repatriated from other tertiary centers.
