Description:

The purpose of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Quality Improvement Plan is to provide:  a systematic, planned, organized method of data collection; a system that continuously monitors and evaluates patient care, support services and leadership; specific, timely, quantitative indicators to facilitate the evaluation of excellence; and support for implementing immediate or continuous improvements. Quality is defined as “doing the right thing, doing it well, and satisfying the customer”.  The program is based on the philosophy and belief that the client is the focus of all Quality Improvement activities and that Quality must be a part of the daily work experience at all levels of the organization. The structure of the Quality Plan is based on nine client-centred teams with input from functional departments and extra-global programs. The Quality Council coordinates an organizational approach to Quality Improvement and provides vision and leadership.
