Description:

The Dr. Peter D. Pan Regional Laboratory at Lake of the Woods District Hospital provides laboratory services for inpatients and registered outpatients from both the local and surrounding communities.

Clinical services include Biochemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology and Surgical Pathology. The laboratory provides testing services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Our staffing complement includes 28 Medical Laboratory Technologists and Assistants.

The laboratory is a member of the Kenora Rainy River Regional Lab Program which is comprised of 6 Northwestern Ontario hospital laboratories working together to create efficiencies in testing, supplies management and human resources. Together a strong Quality Management system has been designed and is maintained collaboratively while providing staff with support and leadership.

The hospital laboratory is accredited by Accreditation Canada Diagnostics/ Medical Laboratory Accreditation.
